ABOUT THE ARTIST
Artist Bio - (Born 1955 Franklinton Louisiana ) Growing up in a small town USA and the rural country side.…one might think I champion realism....and I do, but rather indulge in creating illusion of life, movement, organic ethereal essence. My mind overflows with the unordinary and creates veils that leave one questioning! My Innate Artist consciousness thrived at Louisiana Tech University’s Art & Architecture Department. The internal longing was answered, that being truly alive and in my element of “ART”. This vehicle I use to reveal myself.
I moved to Houston Texas in 1980 where I managed Computer Drafting Systems ~ Speciality Software training ~ Production / Quality Control & Client Relations for majoy Architectural firms. My painting adventure was always active and successful. Through the years I received many competition awards, was envolved in teaching & gallery exibitions. In 2001 I began DM Blackwell Designs a Custom Mural and Decorative Arts company which served Houston & the Bay Area.

Statement: My work is the outcome of years of experience, self-exploration and experimentation. Creating art with a difference & always leaving a lasting impression. Fluidity, Movement, Texture & Structure.
